Halleh Balch has played the violin for over 22 years and has performed at venues in New York City, throughout New England, and in the Czech Republic. She has participated in masterclasses with members of the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, the Shanghai Quartet, the Eroica Trio, and the Lark Quartet. Halleh received her Bachelors degree from Swarthmore College, her Masters degree from UC Berkeley, In addition to being an active musician, she has worked in music management, journalism, and as a physicist.
She teaches private lessons and coaches chamber music. She encourages her students to participate in a range of ensemble opportunities. Regardless of experience level, Halleh’s lessons are uniquely tailored to each student’s goals as a musician. Halleh believes that there is a place for music making in every lifestyle.
In addition to developing technical and musical skills, as a teacher she hopes to empower my students to develop good communication skills, focused work habits, and the self-confidence to identify and pursue whatever they enjoy.
