On August 7th, 2011 at Musically Minded Academy…

… award-winning Jazz guitarist Terrence Brewer will be playing music from his latest album, ‘Setting The Standard: Volume One’, which peaked at #13 on the National jazz radio charts. Brewer will also feature music from his highly acclaimed Wes Montgomery Tribute album, ‘Groovin’ Wes’, which peaked at #9 on the national jazz radio charts and was #1 on several national jazz radio countdowns.

    Jazz Guitarist, Composer, Arranger, and Musical Director, Terrence Brewer’s aggressive marketing and business acumen has aided him in leading his own groups in nearly 2000 shows throughout the US in the last years 7 years. In addition to this impressive feat, Brewer possesses the rich experience of performing and sharing the stage with legendary artists such as Michael McDonald (the Doobie Brothers), Mary Wilson (The Supremes), Dr. Anthony Brown (and the Asian American Orchestra), Pete Escovedo, , and many others. In addition to performing with great artists, Brewer’s has studied with musical greats such as Charlie Hunter, Duck Baker, and Mark Levine.

    In 2004, Brewer started his own record label, Strong Brew Music. ‘Setting The Standard’ (April 2011), Brewer’s 5th record for that label peaked at #13 on the national jazz radio charts. Brewer’s critically acclaimed 2009 release, Groovin’ Wes, a Wes Montgomery tribute project peaked at #9 on those same charts and was ranked #1 on several national and regional jazz charts throughout 2009. The accolades for Groovin’ Wes come on the heels of receiving both regional and national acclaim for Brewer’s all original composition albums, The Calling: Volume One and Volume Two (2006, Strong Brew Music) and QuintEssential (2008, Strong Brew Music), which spent 12 weeks on the JazzWeek/Mediaguide charts peaking at #17. Along with media and chart success, Brewer has performed to sold-out crowds at the Monterey Jazz Festival, the world famous Yoshi’s at Jack London Square, Yoshi’s San Francisco, SFJAZZ Jazz Festival, and countless other festivals and venues.
