Private Program Lessons

We offer private lessons for kids and adults. The youngest age child we will take is 4 years old, with a case-by-case exception for younger children. We teach beginners through pros and our staff has been selected for their diversity so that we may offer many genres of instruction. Needs for levels and styles of instruction are met by pairing students with teachers who may meet their goals, interests and needs.

Our enrollment coordinator will work with you to find our best option to meet your needs for:

Finding a great pairing between teacher/student is important and can be the magic key to successful education. We start all program enrollments with “intro to program” lessons with these steps…

1. Every student starts by enrolling in one lesson at Musically Minded Academy.
2. After that first lesson students and teachers may choose to continue instruction or not.
   1. If the first lesson was a good fit, students may schedule up to four more lessons before deciding to join the program.
   2. If the first lesson was not a good fit for either the teacher or the student, students may opt to start with step one again and try a different instructor.
3. After the “intro to program” period is complete, students must decide whether to join the program or not.
   1. If they decide to join The Program, they will be given a pro-rated tuition quote based on their start date. This quote will include all lesson and event dates along with a monthly payment plan.
   2. If they decide not to join The Program, they may transition to drop-in lessons. Please note, that some Academy instructors only accept program students.
4. Once the tuition quote is received and accepted, students have options for payments.
   1. Monthly Installments: To pay monthly, students must sign up at FACTS tuition management. There is a fee to join this service. MMA does require that all monthly tuition payment plans be processed through this system.  Please  create a new FACTS  account to get the enrollment process started. Once the account is completed, we will add the quoted tuition. Please note, depending on the date of the enrollment, MMA may collect the first installment directly.
   2. One Installment: To pay the tuition all at once, you do not need to enroll in FACTS, simply pay at the front desk or send a check to “Musically Minded, Inc., 5776 Broadway, Oakland, CA 94618.

Semi-Private Program Lessons

Students who want Semi-Private Lessons usually come to MMA already in pairs. We often teach:

• Adults and their late teen, or adult aged children
• Twins or siblings that are less than 2 years apart in age and both older than 6.
• Friends, Neighbors, Cousins that are around the same age range and level

Group Program Lessons

Group offerings vary by semester and student interest. MMA has been primarily known as a venue for Private Lessons. Our instructors are trained and profecient at teaching group lessons, yet since these are new offerings for the Academy, we have been forming groups based on student and instructor interest.

Usually, we offer an initial beginning level course for 7-15 weeks that is not part of the program, after which the students may continue to be included in the program for the rest of the year. The initial level courses have open enrollment through our online enrollment system. The continuing classes require a student account to be set up through FACTS Tuition Management.
