I’m excited to hear you or your child is interested in violin lessons! Whether you hope to be a professional musician or just want to explore a new way of thinking, the violin is a fantastic way to express and develop creativity, focus, and a lifetime love of music.
I have played the violin for over 22 years and have performed at venues in New York City, throughout New England, and in the Czech Republic. I’ve participated in masterclasses with members of the New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, the Shanghai Quartet, the Eroica Trio, and the Lark Quartet. I received my Bachelors degree from Swarthmore College, my Masters degree from UC Berkeley, and in addition to being an active musician, I have worked in music management, journalism, and as a physicist.
I teach both private lessons and coach chamber music. I encourage my students to participate in a range of ensemble opportunities. Regardless of experience level, lessons are uniquely tailored to your goals as a musician. Together we will develop the practicing habits to achieve them over time. I believe that there is a place for music making in every lifestyle.
In addition to developing technical and musical skills, as a teacher I hope to empower my students to develop good communication skills, focused work habits, and the self-confidence to identify and pursue whatever they enjoy.
